Organic apple chips make a great snack. They are rich in dietary fiber, which is good for digestion and prevents blood sugar spikes that easily leave you tired and hungry shortly after your meal. There are also small amounts of vitamin C and A. These vitamins keep your skin and bones healthy. Apple chips also contain several B vitamins, which support metabolism. The amounts of potassium and iron are small, but quite important as potassium is essential for nerve and brain function, and iron is essential for new blood cells.
Apple chips are naturally sweet so there’s some sugar even though there’s no added sugar.
Here’s a recipe for a delicious raw porridge with apples:
2 tbsp lemon juice
5 dl natural yoghurt
2dl oat flakes
1/2dl sunflower seeds
1/2dl almond flakes
2 tbsp honey
some organic apple chips
Wash and grate the apples, add lemon juice, mix all the ingredients. Cover the bowl with cling wrap and let it soak and thicken overnight in the fridge.
If the porridge is too thick, you can add some almond or oat drink to it. Serve with organic apple chips on top. Enjoy!
